Do you work in the field of international development? Are you a professional considering a gap year or perhaps a change of career? Are you retired and looking for an interesting challenge?
If the answer is yes to any of the above then why not volunteer and share your skills with Calcutta Rescue in India?
Calcutta Rescue is looking for professionally qualified long-term volunteers with extensive work experience in the fields of healthcare, international development, education, management consultancy, finance, IT, and PR. Fluent spoken and written English and excellent organisational and communication skills are essential.
Calcutta Rescue’s volunteer posts focus on skill sharing with local staff and are primarily capacity-building roles, as local staff carry out the daily ‘hands-on work’. We generally ask volunteers to commit for a minimum period of 6 months.
Sponsorship may be available to help cover food and accommodation costs; but volunteers are expected to meet most of the costs of their travel, insurance and living expenses.
Short term volunteers (wholly self-funding) may also be accepted from a variety of both medical and non-medical background to work on specific projects decided by local management.
Detailed volunteer role descriptions can be found on www.calcuttarescue.org
All applicants must be able to provide a current Criminal Records Bureau Check.
Please send your CV with a covering letter to: recruiting@calcuttarescue.org.uk
